We have some fabulous towns and villages nearby to us, with great shopping, markets, architecture and historical interests ranging from mediaeval times to WWII.
Why not spend the day in Dinan, walk the ramparts, take a boat trip on the river, play crazy golf, visit the market or the numerous little boutiques that line the cobbled streets, or just sit in the sun and people watch.
Or visit our closest town Lamballe, visit the cathedral, take in the market, walk around the lake.
Then there are ‘les Petites Cités de Caractère’ (little towns of character), such as Jugon les Lacs, where you can lunch in the market square, then walk to the lake for swimming, kayaking or pedaloes. Montcontour is another, a mediaeval walled town the other side of Lamballe.
Dont forget St Malo, with great shops, an aquarium, walk the ramparts, take a walk out to one of the forts at low tide, shop-til-you-drop and eat all the fresh seafood you could want.
A little further away is Mont St Michel, the fairytale castle in the sea as the kids like to call it. This is known as the Eigth Wonder of the World.
And don’t forget the seaside! At the resorts of Dinard, St Cast le Guido, Erquy or Pleneuf Val Andre, where there is a plethora of seafood restaurants, moules shacks and creperies. Something for everyone.
